Completely Fade Out Your Old Tattoo Before Getting A New One...

The point behind getting a "cover up" tattoo is that you don't like the tattoo you currently have in any particular place. It is an option to just tattoo over your old tattoo and hope that it looks OK, or worst case scenario, that it doesn't look any worse than the tattoo that you currently have.

If you are trying to cover up a tattoo that you don't like with a new one, it's obvious that you've made a poor choice in selecting the first tattoo in the first place. With those things in mind, you're probably not interested in just winging it and hoping that if you tattoo over your old one that it will look anywhere near what you thought.

At this point if you are going to tattoo over it then you need to first fade out some or all of your old tattoo. This is where TCA peel tattoo removal comes into play because it will fade your current tattoo as much or as little as you like.

Using this peeling agent will make your new tattoo look as if it is the only tattoo you have on that spot. It fades out your old tattoo. Basically, when you use it as a removal method, it causes an inflammation above the tattoo you want to fade out. It's applied with a cotton swab or q-tip, rubbed over the tattoo'd area and then cleaned off with cool water and soap.

It causes the skin cells to die off aka peel away aka shed itself. As this process takes place over a span of about 6 to 8 months, your skin continually peels away, taking unwanted ink with it. Ultimately this removes lots of old ink from your unwanted tattoo.

You simply repeat the application and care process involved in using TCA tattoo removal until you have completely faded out your tattoo or at least faded it out to the point where you have can a new tattoo applied and your old one won't be noticeable anymore. Using this (trichloroacetic acid) before attempting getting a new tattoo will definitely make your new tattoo stand out as if it's the only one there.

How Your Skin Will Feel During Exercise Or Sun Exposure

Unlike 99% of other tattoo removal methods, you can move about freely after an application of TCA. The end result of using TCA tattoo removal is peeling or shedding of skin. One of the keys is to let the treated skin shed on its own without assistance or abrasion of any sort. If in the even you accidentally pull off any treated skin, scarring could occur. Simply put, do not attempt to pull off any shedding skin.

If you plan on working out after treating your tattoo, that is fine. You should not feel any discomfort if and when sweat comes into contact with the area you've treated. The reason is that you do not have any open incision for sweat to enter. Just dry-like skin. You might feel a very very slight irritation if any at all.

However, if you do feel some discomfort just run some cool water over that particular area and make a mental note that you may need to let that area of skin rejuvenate a little more before returning to your regular routine.

Do not cover the area if at all possible, as this would create friction between your clothing and the treated area. If not covering the area is not an option i.e. your waistline, then wear clothing that fits very loosely. Just do your best to keep the area uncovered if you can. Any rubbing will cause some discomfort.

In terms of being out in the sun after treating your tattoo, you must understand why the area should not be exposed to sunlight. As your shin sheds, new skin is growing up underneath the old. The new skin has not fully matured yet and is photosensitive. If you're going to be in the sun for 1 minute or so then it is ok to leave the area un protected but any period of direct sun exposure requires a strong sun block.

When applying sun block, do not aggressively apply it. Apply it gently and generously as the more protection you have, the better. As a whole, using TCA as a tattoo removal method does not limit you too much as to what can or cannot do. It's effectiveness, ease of application, and low cost make it a definite consumers best buy. Oddly enough, there are a number of providers that offer this for free.
